Diet Plans Versus Diet Reality

By Johnny T. Flynn I have found that there exist two different worlds in the realm of dieting. The first is the world of planning. In the world of planning you can plan out every meal for the next week or month or for however long you want to plan. If you are detail-oriented, write down how many croutons will be in your salads, or specify the appropriate length for the banana you want to eat. Why not? The more specific you are in your plan, the easier it will be to follow, right? Well, maybe not. Lets talk now about the other world: the world of reality. In the world of reality, you change your mind about what you want to eat, often. You go out with your friends for dinner on a few nights that you hadnt planned for, and on two of those nights you eat pizza, lots of pizza. You eat a banana split one night because everyone else is having one, and you dont want to stand out. On three occasions you buy and eat three candy bars within 20 minutes for no apparent reason. You eat three huge meals that your Italian mother cooked, because you know how happy she is when you have to loosen your belt just to breathe after her meals. Nothing ever goes as planned. Thats the important message. Circumstances will usually change and you will be forced to modify your original plan. I had to learn how to handle these situations. Lets say that for this Wednesdays dinner, youre planning to have eight ounces of skinless chicken with vegetables, but you have just been invited to a barbeque (hotdogs, hamburgers). Dont torture yourself and stay home, unless you dont like that group of people. Have fun, but try to limit yourself. You will probably take in more calories at the barbeque than your original dinner, but maybe you can adjust your weeks meal plan. Making adjustments to your eating behavior is an art form that requires a little bit of practice. Try using logic and not your emotions when making these kinds of adjustments. Try to eat slowly at the barbeque, because they will throw meat at you if you are empty-handed. It is easy to just panic and toss down a few greasy burgers while you arent paying attention. Ive done that too many times. Try to look busy, and always have a food item in your hand, but dont take any bites. Tell the hosts youve already eaten three burgers when youre actually on the first one. Another way of looking at these two different worlds in dieting is to notice the difference between logical thought (planning) and emotional execution (reality). You can be very logical when making your plan, because you probably havent even started your diet yet. You will count up the correct number of calories per day, hit all the different food groups, and still be able to eat one piece of a candy bar every single day. Thats greatuntil the diet starts. Once you find yourself on the inside of the fishbowl rather than on the outside, everything seems to change. The rules now seem unfair. Why do I have to eat this crap every single day? I have desires (pizza, enchiladas, chow fun). I feel like Im in prison. We often forget that we volunteered for this diet. And we can get so emotional that the execution of our diet, just following the plan, becomes completely impossible. That is how we came to be overweight. The types of food and the quantity we eat became too important to us. We try to give it up, but part of us still puts up a tremendous fight. It is part of us now, unless we can change. I have a friend named Jeff. Ive known him for about nine years. He is just like you and me except he genuinely dislikes eating. I know thats hard to imagine. Jeff told me one day that he wishes that he could just take all his nutrients in pill form. Thats right. Just slosh them down with water. That way he wouldnt waste any time having to chew anything. The reason I have introduced you to Jeff is to show you that there are other ways to be. There is Jeff, us, and everyone in between. You can step into that in between. When your emotions are locked on a bear claw, think how much better youd look if you lost an inch anywhere. Losing the weight has got to be more important than a one-night stand with some chocolate Kisses. If you want to stop eating certain types of food (like cookies or pies) the best place to start is in your own home. Take a look around your house, especially in your refrigerator and freezer. Do you see anything that will tempt you greatly? I generally have to keep all types of fatty foods and desserts completely out of my house, because if I know they are there, they will eventually crawl right into my mouth. I dont mean to do it. I may be a victim of my own genes. So instead, if I absolutely have to have something, Ill go to 7-Eleven and buy just one of whatever it is (usually chocolate) and bring it back. Thats my rulejust one regular-sized piece of junk food. Of course I could go right back and buy another one, but if the same clerk is at the store, hell think Im a pig to come back so soon. I dont usually take that chance. But many other stores sell candy bars, and unfortunately, I could drive to many of them blindfolded. Some of you dont live alone as I currently do, and you may have to get some help from your spouse or roommate to keep fattening foods out of the house. This may be more of a challenge for you, because your food environment might not be under your control. A little give and take may be in order. Hopefully, your spouse or roommate is someone with whom you can feel comfortable sharing the details of your diet. Or maybe he or she would also like to lose some weight. Having a supportive friend would be great, assuming he or she takes the diet seriously. It is usually easy to tell if someone is taking a diet seriously. If your roommate starts declaring Wednesday as All-You-Can-Eat Pizza Night, or if he or she feels that two Big Macs is the perfect meal, you are on your own. Johnny T. Bigger than the Baby Blues - Signs of Postpartum Depression?

By Mickael Kerenterff The joy of bringing a child into the world, a baby to love and cherish, may be the plan but to 50-80% of new mothers suffering from a form of depression known as the Baby Blues that dream is not the reality. While not serious, the baby blues can leave a new mother despondent, tired, and subject to emotional swings and loss of appetite. The effects of giving birth, hormone changes and the lifestyle changes of having a newborn (not sleeping, being indoors a lot, responsibilities of caring for a baby) can lead to a bout of the baby blues. Baby blues are usually short lived and go away without treatment. What is of more concern are the less frequent cases where baby blues develop into something longer lived and more severe: postpartum depression. While Brooke Shields (along with the help of Oprah Winfrey) has put a famous face on this dreadful disorder, thousands of women who face the pain and anxiety of postpartum depression fight a private battle of wills between their knowledge of what motherhood should be and their detached feelings, hopelessness and even suicide. What causes postpartum (also known as postnatal) depression and what are the signs? No precise cause has been found that causes a happy, healthy woman to loose her sense of self, desire and joy for life when she should be enjoying the experience of motherhood. While many women suffer side effects from the temporary drain of estrogen hormones soon after birth the effect of this estrogen loss may go even further in women diagnosed with postpartum depression. Other factors, such as financial stress, relationship and communication problems or a history of depression in the family may contribute to postpartum depression. Identifying postpartum depression is crucial since it IS treatable. Often it will become the responsibility of the partner or other friends and family to watch new mothers for signs of depression. Postpartum depression can occur anytime after birth - even up to a year after. The National Women’s Health Information center lists these signs to watch for in mothers who may be suffering more than the baby blues: . Feeling restless or irritable . Feeling sad, hopeless, and overwhelmed . Crying a lot . Having no energy or motivation . Eating too little or too much . Sleeping too little or too much . Trouble focusing, remembering, or making decisions . Feeling worthless and guilty . Loss of interest or pleasure in activities . Withdrawal from friends and family Having headaches, chest pains, heart palpitations (the heart beating fast and feeling like it is skipping beats), or hyperventilation (fast and shallow breathing) After pregnancy, signs of depression may also include being afraid of hurting the baby or oneself and not having any interest in the baby. It is very important for mothers to have a strong support system in place since the demands of caring for an infant, especially when other children are present, can lead to stress and burnout. All most mothers need is loving care and someone to talk to. For those suffering with depression, it is even more crucial. Author: Mickal Kerenterff. Nurturing Your Child’s Spiritual Sensitivity

By James Krehbiel In our fast-paced world, filled with material excesses, over-stimulated activity, and feelings of disenfranchisement, it is essential that we help our children find meaning in the midst of the daily pressures they face. Spiritual sensitivity can be expressed in many ways including worship, helping others, learning to be tolerant of cultural and lifestyle differences, and learning respect for the well-being of our environment. It is a parental responsibility through modeling and nurturing, to encourage our children to feel at home within their inner life of spirituality. Our children are inquisitive, and will begin at an early age to ask us questions related to lifes meaning and purpose. They will wonder out loud about issues that may make us uncomfortable but warrant further exploration by the adults in their lives. As parents, we must be ready to respond to the spiritual exploration of our young, questioning minds. Children expect sincere responses, not necessarily lengthy explanations. It is acceptable to tell our children that we have no clear-cut answers to their questions. They can handle uncertainty. Our children may surprise us with probing questions without forewarning. As parents, we need to understand that the process of a childs exploration of perplexing questions is more important than the outcome. Often, simple explanations to complex problems are more important than the answer. Children may want to know more about life and death, separation and divorce, ones concept of God, and why things work the way they do. They may ask, Why do bad things happen to people? Why do people die before they are ready? What is God like? What makes our voice tone change? These questions require a parents understanding and responsiveness. Sometimes, questions are rhetorical and have emotional overtones. In a moment of frustration, I recall my five year old son retorting, Dad, it seems like everything breaks and everything dies! This was a moment for nurturing, reassurance and hope for a disappointed little one. I believe that children need spiritual traditions. Holiday celebrations and regular practice in ones faith serve to sustain our children. Our families need to find ways to create traditions and rituals founded upon spiritual principles such as meal-time prayer and discussions, family educational activities, and bedtime inspirational reading with parents. Help your children to build a pattern of solitude. Excessive isolation is not healthy, but children should be taught to slow themselves down from their hectic, electronically stimulated life and learn to appreciate what it means to live in the moment. Children need to learn how to relax by turning off excessive stimulation and practicing living in the present with a sense of serenity. Share your spiritual beliefs and faith with your children. Allow them to question their beliefs trusting that doubt and wondering is a natural part of faith development. Kids are more interested in what their parents think about spiritual concepts than listening to what the clerical experts might say. It is critical to give your children the permission to question the nature of spiritual truth and reality. Parents can solidify spiritual values in their children through these additional measures: Role-model caring, compassionate behavior. Encourage your childrens involvement in volunteer service. Teach your children to appreciate and cherish what they have been given. Encourage your children to pray for and connect with others in need. Teach your children to respect and tolerate differences in people who share a different faith, have emotional needs, and embrace a different lifestyle. Teach your kids to respect the global environment. Encourage them to join organizations and activities that promote environmental health. Explore with your children their concept of God. Help them to expand and broaden their concept of a Higher Power. Using your own mistakes as learning tools, teach your children better ways of behaving. Exploring mistake-making is important in modeling the ability to change and forgive others. Children are trying to sort out what it means to be a spiritual individual. Parents can assist in this process by role-modeling, re-examining, and creating new faith-based patterns of behavior in an effort to foster their childrens spiritual growth and development. James P. 3 Things Every Crafter Must Know to Succeed

By N Goyette Selling your crafts at craft shows brings together the best of two worlds using your creative and artistic skills along with putting a few extra dollars in your jeans. But, it can be a feast or famine sort of work, and you need to do what you can to make sure that money keeps rolling in for the effort you keep putting out. In this article, I have put together 3 things I think every crafter should have to make sure they can be a success in the craft show business: Credit cards accepted Most regional craft shows today provide their buyers with the option of taking their credit cards for the purchases. You cannot be left behind in this aspect. Credit card use is increasing exponentially as people rely on credit to make their impulse (and not so impulse) purchases. Plus, credit cards are generally safer to carry and easier to use. Having credit card capability is going to make those purchases a whole lot easier at your craft show booth. How many times has a customer walked up to pay and asked, Do you take credit cards, and you had to turn them away because you arent signed up yet? My advice get signed up! Spend time on your booth If you are hitting the regular craft show circuit in your region, it is probably worth it to put a little effort into your craft show booth. People are far more inclined to make a purchase at a booth that has some thought put into: merchandising, organization, flow of traffic, etc. People who become frustrated with the way a booth is set up are likely to end up walking out of the booth and go somewhere else to make their purchase. Come up with a concept, a design, and spend some time inviting customers to make a purchase in your booth. If you can make an extra sale or two per hour because your booth is functional and enjoyable, your profit margin at the end of the day is going to rise. Set up a contact system This is becoming a popular means of creating repeat business, and one that we will delve into in a separate article in the future. But, it bears mentioning right now as well. E-mail and Internet use is reaching new limits of popularity everyday, and there is a built in way to keep in contact with people who have purchased your crafts at craft shows. When you are making a sale, ask the customer if they would be willing to be on an e-mail list so you can keep them informed of any new crafts you have, or any craft shows you will be attending in their area. Not all will be interested, but even if you have a half-dozen or so each show, by the end of the season, you might have 50 people on the list, and that list is great for residual sales in the future! Many things go into making your craft show business a success. From the right craft to the right price, you need to make sure you are on top of the business and giving yourself every chance to succeed. The above tips are going to give you that added push to continue building your sales each time you go out. Oriental Medicine and Women’s Health

By Kitty Bradshaw Women’s health, and the problems that affect it, has been well understood by Oriental medicine for millennia. This holistic approach to health and well-being is exceptionally effective today in treating women’s health problems, such as: All kinds of menstrual-related problems like cramping, headaches, mood swings, and depression. Childbirth-related problems. Post-partum depression. The full range of health issues affecting women throughout their reproductive and post-reproductive years. Unique Bodies Oriental medicine’s foundational approach to disease prevention and health maintenance is that each person is unique, and there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution to a health problem. For example, there are Chinese herb formulas that address the specific needs of young women, and others aimed at conditions experienced by women in their post-reproductive years. Unique Problems Women have unique reproductive systems that are prone to unique health problems. For example, women as a group, have higher instances of kidney-related problems and illnesses than men: problems Oriental medicine effectively addresses through a combination of Chinese medical herbs, acupuncture, acupressure, Chi Kung, and diet and nutrition. Effective remedies, without side effects. The Power of Oriental Medicine An example of the power of Oriental medicine as it relates to women’s health can be seen in a thirty-one year old woman whose menstrual period stops prematurely. Oriental medicine has diagnostic methods for determining why her menstruation stopped, and therapeutic methods for getting it to start again. A Better Quality of Life By addressing women’s unique health issues, Oriental medicine helps you regain and maintain a unique feeling of health. (Note to editor: Please list Kitty Bradshaw and Michael Kessler as authors) Kitty Bradshaw is a licensed acupuncturist, with an advanced clinical degree in Oriental Medicine. Studying and working with Oriental Medicine since 1986, Kitty combines Traditional Oriental Medicine with Taoist healing methods to offer healing possibilities beyond the level of standard health care. Her deep understanding of Chinese medical herbs, combined with her intuitive abilities to diagnose and treat difficult problems, has helped many people regain and maintain their health. Effective Emarketing

By Laura Maddison Effective e-marketing, like all successful marketing, starts with solid planning and clear objectives. Your strategic plan defines the objectives, what your goals are, resources, time and of course budget. It also sets the call to actio the WHY your target audience should react to your message. When you have decided on the medium, segmented your market and have delivered your message you need to evaluate performance. Fortunately e-marketing effectiveness is built to be anlaysed. As with any marketing campaign you will undoubtedly be able to take the findings and look for ways to improve them in your next e-venture. E-marketing covers a wide range of online activities including search engine optimisation, pay-per-click, affiliate schemes, e-newsletters, banners, webinars, blogs, RSS feeds, virals, podcasts and Internet TV. There are many techniques that can be adopted either in-house or by using a specialised agency, the methods below are currently the most popular and fortunately the easiest to adopt. I would recommend that webinars, virals, podcasts and other more complicated media are tackled by the specialists after all the most important thing is brand integrity which can be damaged swiftly through poor e-marketing. Blogging A blog is effectively an online diary. Search engines love them, because they contain fresh content to index. Authors like them because search engines do and the web is all about links, which is why search engines guzzle blogs. A good blog can quickly become your most important online tool! RSS Feeds The little orange RSS button allows your content to be delivered straight to desktops, you can subscribe and unsubscribe anonymously, secure that your info isnt being shared. Blogs, latest news and jobs pages are generally publicised via an RSS feed, a customer may click the RSS button on your blog or site and when new content is added they will be alerted about it via their RSS newsreader. Email Marketing and E-newsletters This is effective for reaching a targeted customer base. Email marketing has become increasingly difficult in recent years, and has its limitations. This is why blogs and RSS feeds are gaining in popularity, however, email marketing is still a viable strategy if used correctly. Developing a good e-newsletter will help to build personal relationships with your current and potential customers. SEO & PPC SEO is time consuming and can be farmed out to an expert. However, if you get used to optimising your webpages with relative keywords and submitting them, then pay-per-click campaigns will make much more sense. You will learn what keywords work and how to get the most out of your online spend. Ultimately the old rules of marketing apply even in the new world of the internet. Find people that want to buy what you sell and tell them about it in a way they want to hear! The medium may be different but the result is the same. Like David Ogivily said In the modern world of business, it is useless to be a creative, original thinker unless you can also sell what you create. Quality Protein - Eat It and Lose Weight Fast!

By Sacha Tarkovsky It provides an immediate satiety factor and because it keeps you full for longer periods. It also balances out carbs by preventing insulin spikes that lead to a drain of energy and cravings for sugar. Protein helps maintain muscle mass which is a very important part in the fat burning process. Lose weight and feel healthier A diet based on increased, levels of protein has been shown in a number of studies to give an added boost to dieters. By helping them increase weight loss, increase loss of body fat, and reduce the loss of muscle tissue. Most experts recommend a diet containing 25 - 35 percent protein for weight loss and between 20 - 25 percent protein for weight maintenance. In the above cases, the protein consumed should be high quality protein. Evidence as to why protein curbs hunger An experiment found that feeding rats a high protein diet increased the activity of genes involved in glucose production in the animal’s small intestine. The consequence of this led to increased glucose production, which was detected by the liver, and relayed to the brain, causing the rats to cut their food intake. So lets look at some great quality proteins, that if eaten will make you healthier, more energetic and help you lose weight. Chicken and turkey These are excellent their low in fat (without the skins) and you can roast, broil, grill, or saut them One word of caution: If youre buying ground turkey or chicken make sure its breast meat. Most ground turkey or chicken contains dark meat and skins and other stuff as filler, which is certainly not quality meat! Fish and shellfish You have a huge variety to choose from here. In fish you have salmon, tuna, cod, haddock, halibut, sea bass, snapper, herring, mackerel, sardines and swordfish. In shellfish crab and lobster are good choices. You cant go wrong with these foods, just be careful on the sauce and dont fry them. Red meat Yes you can eat red meat! Contrary to belief its not all full of cholesterol. You can have lean meat which is only about 7% fat. Choose the round cut, top sirloin, shank, round flank or chuck for meat low in saturated fat. Low fat cottage cheese Of all the protein foods this is one of the best and you dont even have to cook it, its a tasty quick snack whenever you feel hungry. Egg whites Packed with protein, low in calories and containing no cholesterol another great quality protein choice. Just make sure the egg is well cooked to kill salmonella bacteria. A word of warning Yes quality protein is good for you, but dont go over the recommended proportion in your diet i.e. 35% maximum. You still need fat and carbohydrates for a balanced diet! Diet at the end of the day is all about balance and its the balance of the food and the quality you eat, which is reflected in your weight and overall health. I Love Him But I’m Not Turned on to Him

By Margaret Paul, Ph.D. Erin married Dylan because he was the first man who expressed his love for her and was really nice to her. She was not sexually turned on to him, but she figured that this would come in time. Now, 15 years later, sex is a huge problem in their relationship. Erin sought me for counseling due to this issue. I love Dylan. He is my best friend. I enjoy being with him and doing things with him. But the sex issue is causing too many arguments. I end up feeling guilty because I dont want to make love with him. Is there something wrong with me? Erin, are you ever attracted to Dylan? There have been a few times when I was really attracted to him and sex was wonderful. What was going on at those times? Those were times when Dylan stopped pulling on me to have sex with him and make him happy and seemed to be happy within himself. Most of the time, he is unhappy because of the sex issue. I just dont feel attracted to him when he seems so needy. Yes, this is the issue. Women are attracted to a man when he is in his power feeling good about himself - not when he is coming to you like a needy little boy wanting you to have sex with him to make him feel okay about himself. If he needs sex to feel good, then he is using you and sex addictively, and this will always make you feel used. Most women are not attracted to little boys, and when he is in a needy place, he is like a little boy rather than a strong man. Yes, that is exactly the problem! So there is nothing wrong with me for not being attracted to him when he is needy! What a relief! Is Dylan open to doing his inner work to heal his neediness? I dont know but I dont think so. He refuses to go to counseling with me. Erin, the way you can start to heal this issue is to stop feeling guilty and responsible for Dylan and start to take care of yourself by telling your truth. When he is needy and pulling on you for sex, you would need to say to him, I am attracted to you when you feel good about yourself, not when you are needy and wanting me to make you okay by having sex. But I am afraid of hurting his feelings if I say that. You are taking responsible for his feelings rather than taking loving care of yourself. As long as you believe you are responsible for his feelings instead of yours, you will not be able to heal this. Dylan will not address this issue until you are willing to tell your truth. You are not responsible for how he responds. He can choose to be hurt, or he can choose to be open and curious and learn about what you are talking about and how to begin to move into his power. But what do I do if he is hurt and angry? How do you feel about being with him when he is hurt and angry? I dont like it. Then say that. Say I dont like being with you when you are hurt and angry. Let me know when you are open so we can talk about this. Then disengage by doing something else reading a book, going for a walk, calling a friend. Oh, he will be so angry if I dont stay and talk about his hurt and anger! Erin, notice that you are wanting to control how he feels rather than take responsibility for yourself. This is your end of this codependent system. He is trying to control you into having sex with him and taking responsibility for his feelings, and you are trying to control him by caretaking him. Until you are ready to let go of control over his feelings and take loving care of yourself, nothing will change or heal. Erin is working hard to learn to let go of trying to control Dylans feelings and take responsibility for herself. In our last session, she told me that she is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel that she felt herself really attracted to Dylan for the first time in a long time. Container Gardening

By Michael Russell If you have designed your garden in such a way that you have areas of paving or gravel, you may want to liven these up with some well-planted containers. Equally, if your garden is very small, some strategically placed pots full of colourful flowers may be what you need. Choosing Your Containers Pots are an obvious place to start. They come in all shapes and sizes, glazed, terracotta, hand-painted, stone (real or fake), plaster - you name it. If you intend to leave your pots outside all winter and you live in a cold climate, dont forget they must be frost resistant. Theres no point buying hand-painted containers in Spain then expecting them to survive a winter in Scotland! Troughs look good against a straight wall but you need to choose your planting carefully because Ive found that many plants quickly become pot bound in a trough. For example, in a trough 24inches (60 cms) long, I have just ONE verbena which is doing very well but its foliage reaches to each end and I originally thought that the trough would take at least three plants. Wooden containers. You can buy these or make them yourself if you have the skill and you can add a trellis for something to climb up the centre. You can use small split logs for a rustic effect or normal wooden planks for something a little more formal. Dont forget to leave drainage holes. The wood will last longer if you apply a wood preservative and line your container with plastic. Many wood preservers are coloured these days so your container could be blue or green or whatever you like. The easiest to construct is obviously square, but if youre a little more adventurous, you could try octagonal or triangular. Divided containers are great for growing herbs. Hanging baskets, wall hanging half baskets or pots or hanging pouches are lovely for trailing plants and can create quite a show in summer. Basket-shaped or amphora-shaped pots look great but are quite hard to plant and maintain. If you have a talent for construction, you could build your own pots or raised beds with bricks or decorative blocks. Planting Your Containers There are so many different plants suitable for container gardening that I would need a complete book to name them all. Suffice to say that a small shrub will grow ok in a large pot but wont want to share will a stack of other things. Annuals are great for containers but will need to have the spent flowers removed to encourage further blooming. Herbs and alpines are good too but be careful of the sun/shade needed. Be careful also of herbs like mint which can take over a whole flower bed, never mind a pot, left to its own devices. Unlike, traditional borders, container plants are planted very close together so you need to bear a number of things in mind. Buy proprietary compost. Garden borders can, to an extent, obtain nutrients from the soil itself plus leaf mulch and other naturally-occurring organic matter. Containers cannot so buy the best compost you can afford. Container plants need a whole lot more water than those in beds. Dont think that just because it rained all day, much moisture will have penetrated the foliage - it probably wont. In the height of summer, hanging baskets and the like (unless they have a water reservoir) will probably need watering twice a day. So you have a couple of choices; set up an irrigation system for your pots (optimum but pricey) or add a moisture retaining product to your compost (you will still need to water once a day). These are available at garden centres and take the form of a powder which you hydrate into a gel or water retaining balls which look like polystyrene, either of which you mix with the compost. You will need to feed container plants more often. You can choose a compost which has already had sufficient nutrients added to last a season which is a good start for annuals. You can also buy slow-release pellets which you mix into the compost in the dosage recommended by the manufacturer. The alternative is to apply a liquid feed once or twice every two weeks throughout the growing season. OK, so you have your container and youve mixed the correct amount of water retention medium and feed into your compost as required, now for the planting. Try to design the planting on paper or in your minds eye before you start. Remember that trailing plants such as balcony geraniums or surfinia petunias need to be planted around the edge of the container. If youre using baskets, line them with moss and/or a plastic liner. Fill one third with compost, plant the first layer of plants which will poke out of the sides of the basket, add the second third and finish with the top layer. If youre using tubs, dont forget the perspective - tall at the back or side against a wall or fence and smaller at the front. Groups of pots look good together, particularly if theyre colour co-ordinated and the addition of a few well-placed pebbles or coloured ornaments completes the effect. All you need now to enjoy your container garden is a strategically placed table and chairs and a nice chilled glass of white wine!
